I just received a jolly nice email saying that Clagnut has been shortlisted for the Brighton & Hove Virtual Festival Web Awards 2003 in the category of Best Personal Site and Brighton Blogs. It’s times like these when I start to regret thinking ‘clagnut’ would be a suitable name for a Web site.
I’m pretty chuffed with the nomination though, given the stiff competition and at the very least I’ll have a good night out at the Sussex Arts Club. When the organisers post a link, I’ll tell you how to vote for clagnut, assuming you think I deserve it of course!

hurrah!
That’s a lot of competetion, but seeing as of the entire list, yours is the only one I read, you should win! Hurrah!

In fairness the shortlist has been wittled down to 5 (per category), of which clagnut is one.

What does clagnut mean anyway?

Is there any significance to the fact that Brighton and Hove both sound like verbs? Sort of Nautical in flavour.
Good luck. I for one will vote early and often.

Brighton & Hove may indeed sound like verbs. In fact many highly amusing and original advertisements round here go along the lines of ‘Brighton up your day’.
The nautical-sounding theme might be explained by this aerial photo of the city.
And if you search hard enough you can find out what clagnut means. But please don’t.
