Viral mystery

Would you believe this site is for a directory enquiries company (requires Flash and sound)? Make sure you check out their spoof of the Honda ‘Cog’ commercial, which in itself is based on Der Lauf der Dinge by Peter Fischli and David Weiss.

And if you liked that, the Mystery Runners have their own site. Well it made me laugh.

That is not a spoof, just a copy of the original ad.

    Love your work.

OK slight confusion. The spoof is on my first link, to 118118 the directory enquiries company.

I was involved in the marketing plan for 118118. The company involved, http://www.thenumber.com,, obviously did a great job as the 118 118 guys are still around today and have almost become a national treasure! So it does proove that viral mysteries, if done properly, are one of the most successful ways to market a product with long term effectiveness.
