¶ Last night, Her Indoors took me to see Duran Duran at the Kentish Town Forum. Not my usual taste in music, but it was a good show none-the-less.
They played all the oldies (apart from the Reflex, quite rightly) and indulged in a few new songs which weren’t too bad. Girls On Film was kept for the encore, as was their cover of White Lines, which is dreadfully flaccid on the studio album but had heaps of energy on stage (possibly something John Taylor can relate to).
But enough of the music, what I’m sure you really want to know is: What do they look like now? That question, and more, is answered in my muso-journalist post over at Masticate. I also took some photos.

Duran Duran…mmm…this 80s thing really has got legs, hasn’t it!
The Forum is a great venue, though – we went to see Mr Scruff (more my cup of musical tea, it has to be said) and for most of the evening we sat on the padded benches upstairs. No pressure to actually dance, which was nice.

TIm – Mr Scruff is much more my bag as well. Was he playing with a band or DJing?

Rich, he was DJing – one of his marathon 6-hour sets. We got there late (11pm) and left early (1.20am) so we were there for less than half of the set, unfortunately. Great evening though.
