TouchGraph GoogleBrowser is a fantastic Java-based tool for visualising Google:related results. The automatic labelling is impressive in itself (the algorithm appears to work in realtime) and all the nodes are clickable to provide more information. Nice to see Clagnut has got so many cool people nearby.

Holy smokes! That is as swish as they come. Google’s “related” results intrigue me; I’d love to know more about how they’re calculated.

The “what’s related” algorithm appears to be weighted heavily toward outgoing links from the site in question, possibly with inbound links as a secondary factor.
It would be interesting to see a similar graph, but with inbound links as the primary weight. I suspect there would be fewer clumps, and possibly ones that aren’t seen using the current algorithm.

Slightly off topic, but there is a very similar thing at http://www.musicplasma.com
Type in the name of a band (that you like) and it displays visually other bands which are related i.e. similar musical style, etc.

You may find this http://www.cis.hut.fi/~hynde/lvq/ interesting. This page describes kind of clustering algorithms which can be adopted to determine the resemblance and diversity of set of items.
More ramb, ing about this can be found on

Another cool tool is at
http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/
It shows you both back links, keyword trends and also the PR over a period of time with custom graphs
Quite amazing frankly
