¶ A collaborative initiative on a genuinely global scale, the Degree Confluence Project aims to visit and photograph each of the latitude and longitude integer degree intersections in the world. But it’s more than just pictures, each tagged confluence tells a story:
For example:
- 51°N 0°E near Haywards Heath, England (the nearest confluence to my home)
- 90°N 0°E the North Pole
- 90°S 0°E the South Pole
- 35°N 118°W the middle of the Mojave desert
So far 155 countries have been visited and 3357 of the possible 12,809 land-based confluences have been tagged. [via Elastic Space]

Gah, it’s got me stuck between choosing Blackpool and Wrexham! I shall write to my MP, forthwith.

Having stumbled upon your blog one fine day, I realized you’d been running something of MovableType or Textpattern? Or rather a combination with something else?
From the looks of it, it seems like TXP, with all the neat clean URLs you’ve got. But how do u get clean URLs like www.clagnut.com/1/ for your newer posts. Lower numbers usually do specify older posts (as in TXP).
Just wondering!

Anyway, nice work Richard. Brilliant layout and you must really be an alignment guru or something!
